FOLK AT THE LAKE
F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions
Vasona Lake County Park

We expect to be continuously updating this section as we encouter issues that need to be clarified. If you don't find the answer here, email your question to vasona-jam@SouthBayFolks.org.

Q. What about food?

Bring a picnic basket. There will be no food for sale. (There are, of course, water fountains in the park.)

Q. Do I need to be a professional musician to participate?

Absolutely not. Backyard bass players, front porch pickers, fireside fiddlers, and shower singers are welcome to find a sing-along, song circle or jam and join in.

Q. I am a singer/songwriter. Can I sell my CDs and t-shirts?

Sorry, but park rules apply. No selling or advertising.

Q. I've got this great, battery powered sound system. Where should I set up?

Please don't bring amplifiers of any kind. Park rules prohibit amplified sound without a permit, and we are depending upon the natural volume levels of acoustic instruments to allow many different groups and performers to play at the same time without interference from one another.

Q. But, if I can't bring my amp how can I play my electric guitar?

"Folk at the Lake" is an acoustic event.

Q. How can I help?

You can check the call for volunteers for a list of specific tasks.

Q. Where can I get flyers?

We have flyers available online. Feel free to pass them on, but please post only in places where you have permission, and it is legal to do so. (Do not post on telephone poles, lamp posts, trees, or public property.) Good places to ask include book stores, music stores, cafes, college campuses, record shops, and libraries.
