Blah Blah Woof Woof

» acoustic Americana by three award-winning songwriters

Blah Blah Woof Woof delivers folksy stories in tight harmonies covering musical styles as diverse as Celtic, bluegrass, swing, and contemporary folk. With an eye to the tradition of storytelling troubadours down through the ages, their songs encompass a wide range of subject matter ranging from the fate of the buffalo and the plight of the working man, to the allure of cosmetic surgery and social nudity.

Individually, veteran writer/performers Jay Howlett, Steve Kritzer, and Chuck McCabe have won acclaim and awards at Folk Festivals in Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Oklahoma, Oregon, New Mexico... pretty much "all over this land" as the song goes.

Together, with Rolfe Wyer on bass, they have performed at Folk Alliance, the Sierra Songwriters Festival, the Mountain Garlic Festival, the Lupin Songwriters' Festival, the Napa Valley Wine and Music Festival, Music in the Vineyard, the Shasta County Concert Series, and innumerable coffee houses, house concerts, street fairs, bars, and folk venues around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Guys with Guitars & Friends

» infectious acoustic folk; fingerstyle guitar

Long time South Bay folkies Dave Metzger (a.k.a. Dave #9) and Dennis Aiello perform acoustic folk ranging from the cherished and familiar, to new and original, with infectiously rhythmic fingerstyle guitar, and distinctive vocal harmonies.

Having met a dozen years ago at a South Bay Folks event, the duo quickly realized that their complementary vocal and playing styles produced a musical whole much greater than the sum of its parts. That synergy and the jovial banter that flows easily between them has delighted audiences ever since, including many performances to a full house at the venerable Espresso Garden (R.I.P.) in San Jose. Now, after a two year hiatus, the "Guys" are back, and will be joined by guests, Anne & Phil Pflager of Ambergrass, and Daphna Rahmil on violin.

Bringing together a truly unique combination of experiences and talents, Celtic Heart is one of the rising stars on the Celtic and acoustic music scene today, performing a hybrid of traditional and contemporary Irish and American folk music. Celtic Heart consists of "authentic" Irishman Paddy Drumm on lead vocal and guitar, his wife Sheila Drumm on vocals, tin whistle, and bodhran (Irish drum), world-renowned fiddler Jerry MacMillan, and well-known singer/songwriter Steve Kritzer on mandolin, banjo, guitar and vocals.

John Borton opens

» folk and acoustic singer/songwriter; fingerstyle acoustic guitar

John Borton (JB) grew up in a family steeped in music -- Mom was a 50's gospel recording artist and all three kids can be heard singing backup on numerous albums from the era. It was actually much later in life that JB began to explore his own musical talents. Now it's hard to find him without a guitar nearby.

Greatly influenced by Fogelberg, Taylor, Loggins etc, JB's playing and singing style also reflects just a tinge of those gospel licks from long ago.
